Arena of Valor is set to undergo a significant transformation with the introduction of the highly anticipated AoV map 4.0, also known as Battlefield 4.0, developed by Garena and TiMi Studios.
One of the most notable features of the AoV map 4.0 is the incorporation of a day-night system, a groundbreaking addition that brings a dynamic element to gameplay. In a beta version preview, players were given a glimpse of how jungle camps would appear during both day and night cycles, showcasing the immersive nature of this major update.
This innovation bears a striking resemblance to the day-night system already established in Dota 2, the renowned multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) title developed by Valve.
In addition to the day-night system, the AoV map 4.0 will also see a significant overhaul of two iconic epic monsters: the Dark Slayer and the Abyssal Dragon.
The Dark Slayer is undergoing a menacing transformation, characterized by a more formidable appearance featuring prominent white horns and piercing purple eyes. This striking purple-black color scheme is reminiscent of the Storm Dragon from Honor of Kings, the predecessor to Arena of Valor in China.
Meanwhile, the Abyssal Dragon is receiving a visual upgrade with a stunning gold and white color palette. Its revamped design includes sleek curved horns, a fresh set of wings, and a mysterious floating orb adorning its back.
Not only will the appearance of these monsters undergo a makeover, but their abilities and buffs will also be revamped, promising an enhanced and exhilarating gameplay experience upon the launch of AoV map 4.0.
In conjunction with the release of the new map, Arena of Valor will be commemorating its 5th anniversary, marking a significant milestone since its global debut in November 2016.
