Kaine’s Lore
Within the mercenary circle, Kaine stands out as a figure of prominence. His attire is always immaculate, his demeanor serious yet courteous. Amongst certain comrades, he’s affectionately dubbed “Young Master Kaine,” a playful nod to his past as a true scion of nobility.
Hailing from Ramboat, Kaine’s upbringing was marred by the strict control of his parents due to his unique bloodline abilities. Stuart, his sole confidant and neighbor, saw Kaine’s powers as coveted treasures. However, a fateful revelation during their clandestine training sessions led to Kaine’s abrupt departure to his relatives’ abode in Kazell, where he assumed the role of a young lord within a noble house alongside his cousin Sinestrea.
Discovering the dark lineage he shared with Sinestrea, both descendants of malevolent beings, Kaine found himself once again under stringent supervision. Despite the constraints, memories of his time with Stuart spurred him to document family secrets in a missive to his erstwhile friend. However, before receiving a reply, tragedy struck the manor in a brutal massacre.
Returning home to witness the aftermath, Kaine was aghast to find Stuart, once a pillar of composure, now drenched in blood and wielding violence. In the ensuing confrontation, Kaine unleashed his latent powers in a surge of rage, injuring Stuart and fleeing into the night.
Encountering Richter, who offered empathy and wisdom, Kaine found solace in the notion that morality lies not in power but in human intent. Determined to carve his own path, he underwent training under Richter’s tutelage, eventually joining the Mercenary Guild. Armed with his bloodline abilities, Kaine became both a scourge upon evildoers and a seeker of justice, all while harboring a relentless pursuit of Stuart’s whereabouts.
