For the spring splits, Garena Challenger Series saw its highest peak viewership since 2020.

From March 2 to May 4, 2024, Taiwan National University and Garena E-Sports Stadium hosted the Garena Challenger Series Spring 2024. The GCS series saw its highest peak viewership figures for Spring splits since 2020 thanks to the $145,625 prize pool event, which carried over the upward trend from the previous split.

BanMei Gaming won around $77.5K in this Arena of Valor competition after easily defeating Flash Wolves 4:0 in the Grand Final. The top five earned berths in the renowned Arena of Valor Premier League 2024, the mid-season major for the 2024 season, with the runner-up taking home roughly $24.5K.

During the summit clash, the Garena Challenger Series Spring 2024 recorded 56.6K Peak Viewers, nearly twice as many as the next-best entry on this list. The only other teams with multiple entries were Flash Wolves and Deep Cross Gaming. The tournament champion appeared four times on the list of the top five games.

Even if the champion was in high demand throughout the matches, a different team was deemed the most popular side by average online watchers. Though over 114 hours of airtime, their combined efforts did assist this Arena of Valor tournament record 1.4 million hours watched and 12.9 thousand average viewers.

The enthusiasm from the previous series event was carried over to the Garena Challenger Series Spring 2024, which was a positive development. Although the first split of 2024 did not meet the expectations in terms of viewership, it did manage to rank sixth in the end thanks to a sufficient number of viewers. The Garena Challenger Series Summer 2023 was the most successful in the series in a few years.

An intriguing finding is that TikTok, a fairly well-known and popular app in the Asian market, experienced a decrease in view time following the previous split. It was a huge hit for a platform that was steadily gaining traction as a convenient way to watch live esports on the go, particularly in regions where cellphones are more common than PCs.

Rewinding to the APL 2024, it takes place in Bangkok from June 12 to July 7. The Swiss format, a brand-new format never seen in the professional environment of Arena of Valor previously, will be introduced.
