Honor of Kings: World, Tencent’s next role-playing game, is scheduled for release in 2025.

In 2025, Tencent plans to release Honor of Kings: World, an open-world role-playing game.

The announcement was made at today’s Apple Event, which also featured the introduction of new gadgets, such as the iPhone 16 line of handsets.

According to Apple, the game will have a “ultra graphics mode” that is optimized for the iPhone 16 and will provide enhanced viewing distance, sophisticated lighting effects, greater resolution, and “powerful global illumination technology.” Whether this mode would only be available on iPhones was not specified.

You can check the brief gameplay preview of the game that Apple displayed during the introduction below.

A six-minute gameplay clip for the game was the last video posted to the Honor of Kings World YouTube account on October 28, 2023.

When Honor of Kings: World opens next year, it will be available on a variety of devices. It was developed by Tencent’s TiMi Studio.

The game is a spin-off of the immensely popular MOBA, which, according to AppMagic, has made $17.36 billion globally from the App Store and Google Play so far. Not including player spending on third-party Android stores, the majority of that money originates from China’s App Store.

On June 20th, people all over the world started to receive the game. In the past, regionally specific versions of the game, like Arena of Valor, had been released.

Earlier this year, we chatted with Honor of Kings’ lead designer Dean Huang, head of esports Feng, and head of localization Henry Li to learn more about the game’s release.
