Diao Chan, the Honor of Kings

The mage hero Diaochan is well-known for her AOE spells, crowd control, and powerful burst damage. Explosion of Fragrance, her passive that enables her to delay enemies and cause actual damage, is the focal point of her kit. Her low health and lack of escape skills make her vulnerable even if she can manipulate crowds and deal a lot of harm. Diaochan’s efficacy is mostly dependent on timing, skillshot precision, and proper placement. Although team fights are her strong suit, she is readily subdued if she loses focus or is caught out of position.
HOK Diao Chan’s Capabilities and Skills
Explosion of Fragrance (Passive): The enemy will receive a Flower Mark that lasts for eight seconds after each of Diaochan’s skill strikes. The mark, which is activated when four layers are piled, gives Diaochan 120 health points back, deals 180 (+43% spell bonus) points of true damage to nearby opponents, and slows their movement by 50% for one second.

Cost: 0 Cooldown: 0s
Advice: The enemy will be slowed down and area damage will be caused each time Diaochan performs other talents to cause the mark to erupt on them. This damage is real damage that disregards the enemy’s armor defense.
Diaochan swings a flower ball in the specified direction to execute the Returning Lotus (Skill 01). Following a period of flight, the ball returns to Diaochan’s hand, inflicting 180/220/260/300/340/380 (plus a 57% spell bonus) points of spell damage on enemies along its route as it travels out and back.
Cost: 40 Cooldown: 5s
Advice: Deals two straight-line damage deals. It is necessary to predict the opponent’s direction due to a certain delay.
During Petals in the Wind (Skill 02), Diaochan instantly vanishes and resurfaces in the predetermined spot. Three flower balls are then released to strike foes in the area, each of which does 140/155/170/185/200/215 (with a 28% spell bonus) points of spell damage. The cooldown will be shortened by four seconds if the flower balls strike an adversary.
Cost: 45 Cooldown: 10s
Advice: Diaochan can teleport and deliver three times as much damage to the closest adversary with her second talent. The passive slow effect will be immediately triggered if the same enemy is hit by all three strikes. You can use this ability to break through walls as well. When the ultimate skill is unavailable, use it with caution.
Flowery Potential (Ultimate): A magic circle is formed when Diaochan blossoms in place. The circle will produce 210/245/280 (+50% spell bonus) points of spell damage when it forms and vanishes. Additional cooldown reduction will be applied to Skill 01 and Skill 02 when Diaochan is in the magic circle’s range.
Cost: 80 Cooldown: 40/35/30s
Advice: For Diaochan, the most important skill is a highly dominant AOE skill. Diaochan’s other skills can inflict more damage and cool down more quickly since the ultimate skill, despite having average damage, can trigger the passive effect on foes in a wide range.
Colleagues’ Suggestion
Dreambuilder: Diaochan is a hero who is terrified of authority and need a friend to help her resist the enemy’s attack. Dreambuilder’s ultimate can improve Diaochan’s combat skills and survival by increasing damage resistance and removing the majority of control. Diaochan is a fantastic fit for it.
Bai Qi: Diaochan must keep a safe distance from heroes that charge into combat. Bai Qi can control a group of foes when they are standing close to each other (taunt effect), which allows Diaochan to deliver more AOE true damage freely, in addition to taunting with his ultimate, which allows Diaochan to deal damage in a safer environment.
Hero Counter
Diaochan is easily subdued by Zhang Liang’s strict supervision.
If Diaochan is not positioned correctly, Hua Mulan’s extremely powerful burst output can rapidly destroy him.
Advice:
Before attacking, assassin heroes should wait for Diaochan to activate her dash skill.
Make use of heroes who have strict crowd control. Control and murder her once Diaochan rushes in.
To prevent getting struck by Diaochan’s AOE on several enemies, try to keep your distance.
Strategy for Team Combat
Diaochan can use her second skill to strike the adversary during the laning phase, as long as she is safe, and then use her first skill to deal damage. Diaochan has the flexibility to decide whether to flee or keep fighting after the dash because her second talent reduces the cooldown. In team battles, cooldown reduction is crucial, therefore don’t be sparing with her ultimate.
Before using her second skill to dash in during team battles, Diaochan should wait for the enemy heroes to use some of their control skills. This should be followed by her ultimate and first skill. In this manner, Diaochan can swiftly replenish her cooldowns and use her first and second skills to deal damage more often. To avoid being swiftly destroyed by concentrated fire, think about employing the invulnerability skill.
