Tulen (The Pure)
Thunder! To my whim and command!
A demigod named Tulen was created in response to the thunder and lightning. He was a remarkable young man who had the power to control lightning and thunder. Tulen produced thunder that was a thousand times more powerful than ordinary sorcery. Some would describe it as divine. He was placed under Aleister’s instruction by Ilumia the Seer so that he might master the nuances of his abilities.
Tulen, however, did not appeal to the cunning Aleister. He opted not to teach Tulen any spells since he felt that Tulen would eventually succeed him. Unfortunately for Aleister, Tulen benefited from this instructional strategy. Without the aid of spells, he was able to control the thunder naturally. While his strong imagination helped him to increase the scope of his abilities.
Aleister’s downward spiral, which ultimately brought about Tulen’s defeat, was sparked by Tulen’s prosperity. But Tulen was aware of his teacher’s ruse. He wasn’t planning on replacing Aleister. Not at all. But he also had no desire to grant the thunder throne to anybody else. He desired Aleister’s complete freedom, which a student like him would find extremely challenging to obtain.
After wiping away his teacher’s symbol and lighting his own on the throne in front of startled onlookers, Tulen finally descended upon the temple with his godlike thunder. By accomplishing this, he demonstrated that he not only possessed the power to succeed Aleister, but that the thunder throne had also already selected him. Then, with Ilumia’s assistance, Tulen was able to ascend the thunder throne.
Aleister, his own teacher, had previously held the throne, thus his first goal was to reclaim him because without Aleister, Tulen just had the position of authority. Tulen was aware that this nearly impossible task had been placed in front of him to restrain his obscene use of power, but he didn’t care.
Nobody knows what I really want!
