The Flash (The Fastest Man Alive)

Barry Allen could never be persuaded to slow down; he always moved a mile a minute. On the day his mother was killed, that changed. Barry used to be a hyperactive child who annoyed his instructors, but he channeled that energy into a single-minded desire to identify his mother’s real killer. He became a forensic scientist out of a desire for justice, and he was totally engrossed in his work.

Barry was endowed with the ability of super-speed and transformed into the Flash when an unusual lightning bolt struck his lab. He now sprints up skyscrapers, across oceans, and around the globe to halt people who violate the law. Barry has found the ultimate rush from his ability to run at almost light speed. The Flash has learned how to phase through things, produce sonic booms with the snap of his fingers, and never lose a race thanks to his tenacity and focus.

But a shocking occurrence put the Flash’s skills to the ultimate test. The Flash stretched his limits, running so quickly that he was getting close to the speed of light as he tried to save a bunch of kids from a school fire. The Flash successfully saved the kids by drawing force from the Speed Force, the enigmatic extradimensional energy that gave him his powers. As a result, he was sucked into the Speed Force itself.

The Flash was propelled through multiple parallel universes while submerged in the swirling, changing, hyper-dimensional currents of the Speed Force before arriving in the mystical country of Athanor. The Flash first bemoaned being stranded in this dangerous environment, but he soon realized there are no coincidences when it comes to the Speed Force. The tragedy that kept the Flash in Athanor occurred as a result of the Speed Force being syphoned into Athanor by one of the Lokheim generals.

To unravel the mysteries of Athanor and revive the Speed Force, The Flash has teamed up with the other Justice League members. The Flash may discover the actual nature of his powers as he sets out on his mission; this revelation will have implications not just for his own powers but also for all the speedsters who have ever combined with the Speed Force.
