Raz played a significant role in Thane’s ongoing conflict with the Fallen. Raz was placed by the mighty monarch deep inside the shadows to serve as his eyes and ears.

Raz had extraordinary speed and agility, but his most notable attribute was his lightning-quick, accurate fists. Raz gained Preyta’s trust throughout his protracted assignment. Raz became the commander of a small strike unit in Preyta’s army after gaining his favor. Raz was able to use his position of power and cunning to stay one step ahead of the Fallen while using deception and sabotage to obstruct the evil army.

Preyta was no fool, though. He detected the rat odor. Even Raz was blissfully ignorant until it was too late as a result of the elaborate plans he had laid out to catch the traitor in his midst. He got caught in Preyta’s trap by following a false lead. He was quickly encircled by a sea of souls that had been perverted.

Preyta and many of his ilk surrounded Raz while uttering filthy curses. Although he could feel that his time was running out, he was unable to just give up and accept his fate. Raz swung out with a ferocity never before seen in Athanor, drawing on his last remaining reserves of strength. His opponents and himself were both enflamed by the fire in his fists before he eventually broke through. His spirit, though, had been severely wounded, and his hands were severely damaged.

Raz hobbled back into Thane’s court and fell on the ground there. Thane hurried Raz to the citadel and pleaded with the angel Lauriel to help him save his companion. Raz would have to go through a difficult test in order to gain the Light’s blessing, and if he failed, he would perish.

Fortunately, he did not. Raz not only prevailed and recovered on his own, but he was also stronger than before. The red light emanating from his gauntlets intensified with time as his resolve to defeat the Fallen hardened. Anything in his way of his just rage would be destroyed by his fists.
