Veera (The Soul Harvester)
I am Veera, the Night Queen.
Veera was simply one of numerous demi-gods dispersed around the realm before she turned to the Abyss, and a fairly weak one at that. Even though the Creator bestowed demi-gods with immaculate bodies and spirits, not all of them actually reach this perfection. Some people, like Veera, were born with flaws that were left over from the moment of creation and which no potion or magic could correct.
Veera had to use her wits to get through. Each night before she went to sleep, she reviewed the day’s events, looking for a better, more practical answer to every problem and teaching it to other sentient beings. Veera used her knowledge to make a career when she established herself as the nation’s finest sage and the person to turn to for solutions to all issues.
Maloch was the stranger of Veera’s guests. His heart was as simple and innocent as that of a kid, despite his incredible strength and propensity for rage. Veera taught him how to manage and direct his destructive power, cutting rivers and mountains for roadways as needed. Their understanding of one another developed as they altered the environment around them.
In the wilds of antiquity, the seed of civilisation and love flourished.
However, after the Decree of Light and Order was issued, the Temple condemned unrestrained demi-gods like Veera as heretics. After a fruitless battle, Edras, the Vedic Archmage, banished them to Mount Ophean to undergo reeducation.
Veera, who was weak physically, struggled hard on the lengthy voyage. Her appeals to the Temple Guards were ignored, and they responded by treating her even more harshly. She would not have survived the journey if Maloch, Volkath, and the others had not taken such good care of her.
Veera was anxious to learn everything the Temple could teach her, but as she did so, her hatred for the Temple intensified. Knowing your enemy is the first step to defeating them. Veera gained insight in the wilds, and that wisdom served him well in the Temple.
Veera was praised as the best example of reeducation as a result of her performance, which won Edras’ approval. Edras even pledged to make every effort to correct Veera’s flaw. Veera’s opinion of the Temple was unaffected by any of this, even when she realized that the Creator intended for the demi-gods to govern the world. Why shouldn’t we use our free will to exercise our authority? Why should we be forced to adhere to this paper’s absurdities?
Veera joined Volkath’s camp without hesitation and attracted a large number of allies to join the battle when Volkath formed his resistance with the help of the Abyss’ power. Her cunning and knowledge served the rebels well, striking a severe blow to the Temple’s protectors and buying them crucial time to flee.
She was guaranteed a prestigious position in the Abyss thanks to her unmatched strategic thinking. Veera was consistently their most dependable advisor, whether they were under Volkath or Maloch. She expanded her position and influence by transforming the Abyss Legion into a powerful force.
Veera is reported to refer to herself as the Queen of the Night because she inherited Maniara, the Primal Night’s power. Nobody has been able to corroborate or refute this claim, and Veera herself has kept silent on the subject. It is evident that Veera has long since said goodbye to her frail physical self and gained a new, attractive form. It takes enormous power to overcome a flaw in creation.
Maloch is their unflappable leader and the nominal lord of the kingdom to most Abyssinians. However, Veera is the one who really controls events, just like Ilumia did in the Temple.
To counter wisdom, one must have wisdom.
