Thane Item Builds
Key Items
To play Thane at his best, you’ll need to have these things. Only very experienced players and/or those with compelling justifications should deviate from a fundamental item.
The Knight’s Plate may be built into two things, each of which Thane may find to be quite helpful. The monarch will want to purchase one or both of the potent items in practically every game. However, depending on the circumstance, sometimes only getting the Knight’s Plate will suffice.
Gaia’s Standard is not the strongest source of magic resistance, but Thane gains many advantages from it. He can gank with the speed boost it provides, and the health regeneration increases his total tanking capacity. Gaia’s Standard also provides enough magic defense, albeit less than Medallion of Troy, to give the bearer a sizable level of resistance to hostile mages.
Typical Item Builds
The goal of this construction is to make Thane as durable as possible. Every item increases his capacity to survive in some way, whether it be through armor (Shield of the Lost, Mail of Pain), magic defense (Gaia’s Standard), or health (HP) (Amulet of Longevity.) As he approaches the adversaries and prepares for battle, Thane will be able to withstand the most brutal beatings.
Although this build likewise aims to keep Thane alive, we use a different strategy by focusing on increasing Thane’s health regeneration rather than just assisting him in dodging hostile fire. His passive and Gaia’s Standard will keep your health constantly replenishing. This build’s primary flaw is that a player with Curse of Death or Tomb of the Reaper can disable it.
Getting in the face of the opposition and punishing them alongside your squad are the main goals of this setup. Mantle of Ra’s aura will deal some damage to the opposition as Hyoga’s Edge keeps them near. He will be able to survive his dives and continue fighting as battles stretch on thanks to the remainder of his standard tank equipment.
An aggressive Thane build that can be very profitable later in the game. For supports, a fast cooldown is probably very nice.
