Core Items

To play Rourke optimally, these items are necessary. Only deviate from the core items if you are a highly experienced player or have a valid reason to do so.

Both Omni Arms and Frost Cape work very well on Rourke, providing him with juicy CDR and other useful stats. Their passives synergize wonderfully with Charged Shot, with Omni adding an extra 1.0 AD to its already substantial damage and Frost slowing opponents, allowing Rourke to catch up and finish the kill. Be sure not to take both, as you will lose Frost Cape’s passive.

While The Beast lacks a passive, it can still be very useful for Rourke due to his burst damage attack style and reliance on normal attacks. The large amounts of health regeneration it provides in the middle of fights allow him to stay healthy even when taking damage. In a tight spot, Determination can be used to cover his health and buy time for regeneration.

Sample Item Builds

This jungle build for Rourke focuses on maximizing his damage potential by giving him attack speed and power. As he is already quite tanky with his ultimate, the defensive stats provided by Spear of Longinus and Medallion of Troy are enough to keep him healthy in fights. Scorching Wind, Omni Arms, and Muramasa work together to deal fantastic amounts of damage, making Rourke an extremely lethal captain.

Another jungle build, this one also focuses on damage to maximize Rourke’s potential as a duelist. Rather than a jungle item, Fafnir’s Talon is taken for the attack speed, damage, and lifesteal it provides. The passive is also a nice bonus. This build is more aggressive, allowing Rourke to deal immense amounts of damage to his enemies.

This build places Rourke in the Dark Slayer lane, where his durability and dueling potential make him an excellent choice. Unlike marksmen, Rourke can handle this position. This build focuses even more on damage, building him aggressively. Fafnir’s Talon is taken for the attack speed, damage, and lifesteal, while Frost Cape provides some defensive utility. This build allows Rourke to dominate the lane and deal significant amounts of damage to his enemies.
