Core Items

These items are essential for optimal gameplay as Batman. Deviating from these core items should only be done by highly experienced players or with a valid reason.

Batman’s playstyle combines elements of an assassin and a warrior. Therefore, he benefits from items that enhance his durability and his ability to pursue and eliminate opponents. Frost Cape is a crucial item for Batman as it provides additional armor, HP, and a slowing effect that aids in chasing enemies.

Spear of Longinus not only grants Batman the means to withstand enemy attacks but also enhances his auto-attacks. This item reduces an opponent’s armor with each attack and offers health and cooldown reduction, making it a versatile choice for the Dark Knight.

Rankbreaker increases Batman’s movement speed when he’s out of combat, making him more effective at roaming and pursuing enemies. It also provides armor penetration, allowing him to quickly dispatch foes.

Sample Item Builds

The following item build is the most common way to play Batman. It capitalizes on his inherent offensive capabilities while also making him tanky enough to survive in the later stages of the game. Leviathan is the preferred jungle item for this build, thanks to its substantial defensive bonuses. Additionally, Rankbreaker and Spear of Longinus increase Batman’s attack damage, while Frost Cape and Medallion of Troy bolster his defenses.

This build is high-risk and high-reward as it lacks significant defensive strength. Frost Cape and Spear of Longinus are the only items providing defensive bonuses to protect Batman during engagements. However, the build compensates for its lack of defense with formidable attack power. Batman can swiftly eliminate squishy heroes with a quick combo, and even tankier opponents will struggle to withstand his damage output. Each item in this build contributes to offensive power, with Frost Cape, primarily a defensive item, also providing some damage and chasing potential. The strategy here is to initiate the assault, deal maximum damage quickly, and retreat to safety.

In this build, Batman is placed in a lane instead of the jungle. Although he may have less early game impact compared to other builds, he can maintain momentum in the later stages of the game. This build combines survivability and damage, allowing the Dark Knight to chase down enemies and assist in bursting them down. Items like Rankbreaker and Spear of Longinus enable him to bypass enemy defenses and deal significant damage, especially to squishier heroes. Additionally, Gaia’s Standard protects Batman from magic damage, while Mail of Pain and Frost Cape provide defense against physical damage, ensuring he has substantial durability.
