Wukong Item Builds

Core Items: To achieve optimal performance with Wukong, these core items are essential. It is advised to deviate from them only if you are an experienced player or have a valid reason to do so.

Claves Sancti: Wukong heavily relies on critical strikes for damage, making this item a must-have. Claves Sancti not only provides valuable attack damage and critical chance but also enhances the damage inflicted with each critical hit.

Slikk’s Sting: This item increases critical chance while offering additional survivability to the monkey king. Whenever Wukong critically strikes an enemy, Slikk’s Sting grants valuable resistance stats, allowing him to escape enemy control effects more easily. Moreover, the item provides critical chance, attack speed, and movement speed, making it an excellent choice to amplify Wukong’s damage output.

Soulreaver: Among the jungle items available, Soulreaver is the best option for Wukong due to his dire need for attack damage. The cooldown reduction it provides enables him to move swiftly with his abilities and enhance his attacks more frequently.

Sample Item Builds:

Offensive Build: This build capitalizes on Wukong’s primary strength, which is his ability to pummel opponents into submission. It offers a comfortable 65% critical chance (including his passive). While it is possible to achieve higher critical chance, doing so would compromise attack damage (Devil’s Handshake) or only provide stat boosts (Bow of Slaughter). With Soulreaver and Fenrir’s Tooth, Wukong boasts high attack power, ensuring his critical strikes pack a substantial punch. Omni Arms complements his burst damage by stacking its own damage on top of his modified strikes. If the enemy heavily stacks armor, Muramasa can be substituted in.

Balanced Build: This build prioritizes a bit more durability for Wukong, allowing him to sustain longer in fights. Frost Cape and Ancestral Glory provide increased survivability, enabling him to make riskier moves during team fights. While his burst damage may not be as impressive, he becomes more capable of dealing sustained damage in battles.

Lane Build: This theoretical build takes advantage of Wukong’s mobility and lane control. Wukong’s abilities grant him significant lane control and ganking potential, making him effective in quickly assisting adjacent lanes. Despite sacrificing Soulreaver, the monkey king still possesses impressive burst damage with the offensive items provided. Additionally, he can simultaneously wield Omni Arms and Muramasa, making him even more formidable against durable opponents.
